Bright Oval Earrings – Raised – Sterling Silver

Cast silver is where most makers stop. This is where the real work begins.

These oval drops are cast in sterling silver from my original designs — and intentionally asymmetrical. Each earring carries a different surface pattern: the same shape, but not the same detail. Worn together, they’re a pair. Looked at closely, they’re two distinct objects.

The surface is depletion gilded — repeatedly torch-heated and acid-quenched until no more copper rises, then tumbled for hours to burnish bright. The result is a near-white fine silver finish with strong textural relief, a pronounced tactile feel, and better tarnish resistance than standard sterling.
